On August 2, 2017, as part of a program to advance work in the field of digital humanities, the Center for Digital Editing received an $18,236 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
Funding will support the development of a workshop to discuss how platforms such as Drupal and Omeka can better serve the needs of the documentary editing community. Work on this project will begin in fall 2017 under the guidance of CDE director Jennifer Stertzer and with support from CDE project developer Erica Cavanaugh and the Jane Addams Papers Project director Cathy Hajo. The workshop is projected to occur in 2018.
“This grant is a great opportunity to stimulate discussion about the value of technology not only in delivering, but also creating digital editions,” said Stertzer. “I’m looking forward to learning more about the unique needs of other editing projects and brainstorming solutions for effective digital tools for those projects.”
